Product Warranty and Recalls

Limited Product Warranty

Regardless of where your product was purchased, if it is found to be defective, GOLDEN will replace the product at no cost to you.

To efficiently serve you, we require product names and batch codes from affected product packaging. Batch codes are six digit numbers printed on the bottom of jars, bottles or buckets (occasionally printed on a sticker that is placed on the container) – or stamped into the tail of all paint tubes. We also need a brief explanation of how the product(s) did not perform as expected – images are required for your replacement request.

We may also require an itemized receipt and/or return of unused portion of defective product. Replacements will not be provided when product has been completely used (ex. empty containers) or for product allowed to dry in its container due to improper storage - see examples below

For cap failures on acrylic colors in tubes, use the cap replacement form to submit your replacement claim.  If the cap failure caused you to lose product, please use the Product Warranty Form

To submit your claim, please fill out the Product Warranty Form.

What Is Not Covered Under Warranty

Examples of conditions and situations where product replacements will not be provided under GOLDEN's Limited Product Warranty.

Temperature Damage

Replacements will not be provided for products damaged by storage in environments with temperature extremes such as unheated garages or hot attics, which may result in changes in consistency, separation, or other damage that voids warranty coverage.

Improperly Sealed or Maintained Containers

Replacements will not be provided for products that have dried or been damaged due to improper sealing. Containers should be tightly closed after each use to prevent premature drying and contamination.

Paint buildup on tube threads, jar rims, or other sealing surfaces prevents proper closure and can lead to product damage. Regular cleaning of container sealing surfaces is recommended to maintain product integrity. For best practices or tips for storing products refer to our Just Paint article Shelf Life of Golden Acrylics.

Completely Used Products

Replacements will not be provided for containers that have been completely used. Empty tubes, jars, or bottles with no remaining product are not eligible for warranty replacement. In the event some remaining product did not conform to product standards, replacements will be provided for the volume lost.
